Author : Umesh Kumr Pathak |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : The first decade of the new millennium has been perhaps the most riotous period for mass communication, especially in India. The proliferation of media channels and mobile telephony has been unprecedented. In the area of mass communication, the term theory is often liberally defined. New paradigms, conceptual frameworks, models, normative theories, and, of course, actual theories are all frequently referred to as “theory”, although they represent very different constructs. As traditionally defined in science, a theory is a systematically related set of statements about the causes or relationships fundamental observable phenomena. Theories are developed by abstracting from observation and are confirmed through concerned experiments designed to test hypotheses related to a theory. The result is often the development of law-like generalizations about underlying causes and relationships. The purpose of a theory is to increase scientific understanding and temper through a systemized structure capable of both explaining and predicting phenomena. Thus, accepted theories become a part of our understanding and are the basis for further explorations of less understood areas. |

Author : Kempe Gowda. P |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : Acultivator is in almost perpetual need of credit both for product ion and consumption. Traditionally his needs were met by the landlord-trader –moneylender complex involving usurious interest rates and other exploitative practices. Official cognizance of his needs goes back to 1793, when the system of taccavi loans was introduced providing loans at low rates of interest for agricultural improvements, mainly for the digging of wells. During the rule of Lord Mayo (1869-1872), the Land Improvement Act, 1871 was passed. It was amended in 1876 and replaced in 1883 when a more comprehensive legislation was enacted, namely the Land Improvement Loans Act, ‘to consolidate and amend the law relating to loans of money by the Government for agriculture improvements’ which included construction of wells, tanks and other works; preparation of land for irrigation, permanent improvement of land for agricultural purpose and renewal or reconstruction of any of these works. |

THE RELATION OF CAUSE AND EFFECT IN INDIAN PHILOSOPHY |
Author : Deepak Bakshi |
Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract : -Causation is not mere succession of cause and effect. Mere antecedence is insufficient to explain the production of effects. It should be a necessary antecedence. The necessary antecedence should not be merely positive but both positive and negative. Two things cannot be said to be causally related unless there is the positive negative relation between them such that the presence of the cause means the presence of the effect. Each effect has only one cause. The confusion leading to acknowledge plurality of causes is on account of our defective analysis. Plurality disappears when by analysis we delimit the zone of effect. The swelling of river caused by rain is different from that caused by partial embankment. |
